This past year, my wife and I replaced all of the windows in our home. The old windows were not doing a good job of keeping out drafts, and we wanted something stronger in place to deter burglars. I told a friend of mine that I was getting ready to work on my taxes, and he asked if I was going to take advantage of the window tax credit.
I had no idea what that was, so he told me I should take a look online. What I found is that homeowners would replace windows and doors in their homes are eligible for a tax credit. This was a pleasant surprise; we were going to do our window project regardless of the tax credit, and now it looked like we would actually get some money back. I made sure to do a lot of reading on the subject to ensure that we qualified for the credit.
