Finding federal tax exemptions used to be a chore with me no matter if I went and had my taxes prepared or did them with tax preparation software. My business is unique. I always have to select "other" when filling out forms that describe what my business is. Being in a different circumstance for everything business, I had a hard time sorting through which deductions were okay and which might throw up flags for an audit.
I was glad to find a place that gave me helpful reminders about legal deductions for federal tax returns without having to read another IRS tax booklet. I dread tax time. It is tedious and time consuming to be sure I am not paying in too much. I have amended returns in the past. It cost me to file an amended return but the savings was worth it. I only have to do that when I find out about a deduction after the return was filed. If it is for a significant amount that greatly impacts my tax obligation to my favor, I will file an amended return. It was nice to get this refresher to help me prevent that.
