I was searching for the best list of legal tax write offs for 2011. I needed to save every nickel that I could on my taxes. I remember when I was young and happy to get all of my tax money back when I filed. Then I got a real job and needed to find every deduction that I could. Back when the economy was more stable I didn't make a big deal out of closely monitoring what the IRS was keeping of my money.
Now I am much more enthusiastic on keeping what is legally mine, especially since I have children in college. I found this list and it was a great refresher of things to look for when I do my taxes this year. I no longer get a refund. I pay in less money throughout the year and put the rest away in an interest bearing savings plan or fund. There is no sense in letting the government hold onto my money for free.
