We had a couple of tough years and the irs medical deductions I found saved us a fortune on our taxes. When I think about paying taxes versus having the health problems in the first place, of course we both would have preferred to just pay the tax and be healthy. However, our chronic health conditions along with the acute medical conditions that have popped up have about sent us broke.
The savings we got on our tax liability by claiming every legal medical expense we could has greatly reduced our tax obligation resulting in a substantial refund. It could not have come at a better time. We are having trouble meeting the monthly obligations with all of the doctor visits and medications we have had to put money out for. I am glad to have found out exactly what is a medical deduction. I had been missing some of them.
